This publication by the John G. Riley Center & Museum casts light, posthumously, on women who lived in Tallahassee and Leon County and contributed in a myriad of ways to the growth, stability and development of both for decades. It is titled "Uncrowned Queens" in recognition that their service reached the height if royalty, though often overlooked and unsung during their lifetime. These women, also referred to as "Matriarchs of Courage", are among many women, too many to include in this production, who without their devotion many children, homes, and institutions in Tallahassee would have faced adversities and periods of discomfort in many ways.
