Join us on May 19 for a day of professional development, networking, and learning in recognition of Florida’s commemoration of emancipation on May 20. As part of the Journey to Emancipation, this program is designed to support those working in museums, historic preservation, education, and related fields.
This free, public event offers participants the opportunity to connect with colleagues and gain practical insight into grants, resources, tools, and strategies for preserving, interpreting, and sharing African American history. Sessions will highlight current initiatives, funding opportunities, and best practices, while also incorporating elements of African American foodways, music, and “Spirit of Emancipation” traditions to ground the day in cultural context.
