About the event
We are excited to welcome Dr. Rik Stevenson, Assistant Instructional Professor of African American Studies at the University of Florida, for a discussion on Black Theology. This talk explores its deep historical roots, tracing the influence of early Black theologians like St. Augustine on Western philosophy and Christianity. By examining these foundations, the lecture will also consider how Black theological thought has shaped the unique social, cultural, and religious landscape of the American South.
Meet the Lecturer:

Dr. Robert L. Stevenson, Jr., is an Assistant Instructional Professor of African American Studies at the University of Florida. Dr. Stevenson holds two Master’s Degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary, a Doctorate in Divinity from the Southern California School of Ministry and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University, in African American and African Studies.
